Hm. I always used ‘gang’ as ‘a group of friends’. Never thought it might be offensive or understood *this* way. Thanks for the insight.
And I really wonder how big that place really is 😮

And here I thought Fragile couldn’t get any more awesome. I wish there were more people like her in the real world.

Agreed, I would totally move to a place like this.

Now I’m REALLY wondering why her granddaughter was trying to kill herself, since she comes from such an accepting and inclusive place…

140 years? Damn. I don’t remember if we got hints before that Fragile was that old, but that’s still a surprisingly large number.

“My trans sisters” makes me wonder if Fragile herself is trans. She didn’t use such close terminology to describe the other groups, but that could just be her identifying/respecting their gender….

Here’s a question: could vampires even have surgery that extensive? If there’s an increased healing factor would the body revert to what the DNA demanded?

If the healing factor were high enough to regrow a limb or anything along those lines one would assume that the body would continuously attempt to recreate what it thinks it should be- from regrowing a sixth toe that you were born with to… anything else. I think that if you had a powerful healing factor and had any gender-changing surgery your body would be in a constant state of rejection. You would have to go back and redo the surgeries over and over to fight the healing process of your own body. It’d be horrible…. of course, that means that it’s entirely possible that this body/gender/identity and the pain it can cause or one can go through for it might actually be a part of this, since A&K are AMAZING writers and design awesomely complex characters.

Hmmmm mythologically speaking, vampires are able to shape change at will, transforming into different people and animals – surely if they can transform into bats they could switch genders without surgery. Besides C.E. is already doing it – she was the man with the disease in the story she tells Mary, and then Remy says “sometimes he, sometimes she, oftentimes it” when discussing her.

Should also point out that being trans doesn’t necessarily mean surgery or other interventions… That being said, I always used to wish that I could change my body at will like that. Probably wouldn’t have wanted to change it back, mind, but it’d’ve been cool.

Also, it’s quite possible that a body with high healing factors would itself ‘feel’ that something was wrong and ‘correct’ itself without requiring outside intervention. I like to think my ‘mones would be unnecessary if I were a vampire…
