This is really powerful and moving — we’ve gone from Scarlet being an anonymous body, to someone we desperately want to save, helplessly witnessing from beyond the page.
And Rose has gone from murderer, thief, and releaser of monsters upon the world . . . to being a tragic, unsung heroine.
It’s a damn strong reminder that when you only see part of the story, it’s easy to make snap judgments that are totally wrong and unjust.
Holy crap…going back and rereading Unkindness, there’s a page where Mary says ‘Someone here killed this woman’. The page is drawn so we focus on Raven, but in literally *every panel* focusing on Raven for that page, Edward is standing there too, looking all nice and innocent…
