I’ve got to ask; is Fragile pronounced in French or English?

It depends on who’s saying it.

Somehow this might be my favorite page so far. Between Fragile’s huge “Family”, Mary’s adorable Zuko-esq hello, and the awesome reason for Fragile’s name.

Just a tiny nitpick: since Mary is a girl, it should be “ma petite”. “Mon petite” would be incorrect because “mon” is masculine while “petite” is femenine (“petit” is the masculine form. In French, pronouns’ gender is the same as the thing named. In English, the gender is the same as the person speaking).
Of course, this only applies if grammatical gender in Creole works the same way as in French, which I’m not sure about. Please ignore this if I’m wrong ^^”

I found the last chapter amazing, can’t wait to see how this one developes 😀 Lots of thanks for creating and sharing all this world!

Thanks for the kind words! As far as the nitpick goes, we’re both aware of the language rules for French, but in this case, we decided Fragile would use ‘mon’ as in Creole, it’s often said to someone beneath you/children as ‘mon’ regardless of gender, and in the LGBT Creole community, is also often used to refer to a female S.O. — a little wink to gender being superfluous or an elevated masculinity in terms of affection/regarding. Generally speaking, most French & Creole speakers find it okay to use the masculine form of ‘mon’ with terms of endearment — it’s not insulting — but the same doesn’t always apply for the feminine form of ‘ma’ (unless, again, you’re in the LGBT community, where we have little winks all over the place wrt to gendered language). Anyway, I hope that clears things up! So glad you’re enjoying the story so far, we can’t wait to share more and more! <3

Fragile wears a PINK APRON and wields a SPATULA to make BREAKFAST for her GIANT FAMILY OF NERDS. God you are killing me with this woman I love her and I love you for writing her.
God. I bet she asks em how they like their eggs. And gives them scrambled eggs no matter what they ask for. Not cause she doesn’t know how to make fancy eggs. Scrambled is just so much quicker cause they got chillns behind you mark if you want fancy eggs make em yourself.
