Idk about Arthur’s expression, it didn’t bother me like everyone else. It just looked to me that he went into states of flat affect (sorry, learned medical term after lots of medication) during stress like when he kills. Plus Gaki is being a fireball and a half which is probably conjuring memories of Arthurs past and it looked same-same to that to me? Idk but he seems himself even if himself isn’t very uh sane.
Gaki has “cleaned up” goodness only knows how many bodies for CE. That’s got to weigh on him. Alice is maybe the first one he’s ever tried to save. Now she’s in danger. So does he know what he’s doing or is he just going to get Alice killed like all the rest?
He probably doesn’t even realise. He’s scared and lashing out.
